Is there a use for AI in Warfare? What are the risks and challenges, or advantages?

In September 2022, the UK Campaign to Stop Killer Robots members, Taniel Yusef (WILPF UK) and Verity Coyle (Amnesty International UK) participated in a evidence session organised by the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Artificial Intelligence. Others speakers included: The Rt. Rev Steven Croft, Lord Bishop of Oxford (who is part of our campaign’s cross-party group of parliamentarians concerned with the growing autonomy in weapons systems); Dr. Mariarosaria Taddeo, Associate Professor and Senior Research Fellow, Oxford Internet Institute; Dr. Sidharth Kaushal, Research Fellow, Royal United Services Institute (RUSI); Dr. Daniel Clarke, Head of Applied Research, Rebellion Defence.
